After I posted my Utah economy report yesterday, I started thinking about the statistic at the top of the page - the growing Latino presence in Utah. With so many Latinos entering the state, there will have to be qualified real estate professionals to help them buy their first homes on Utah soil.
Then I came upon an article today from RISMedia that was about this very same topic. It mentioned three brokerages around the nation that have implemented sophisticated programs to help out their Spanish speaking clients. The conclusion that I arrived at: there are probably plenty of Spanish speakers out there who could use my help. In the previously mentioned article, it stated that within 5 to 10 years, a good 66% of first time home buyers may be Latino. I think that speaks for itself in that we should take capitalize on that statistic.
I'm sure many of you already cater to the Latino demographic and might think that I am a bit slow, but better that I catch on sooner than never. Y ademas, yo hablo Español. Si algiuen pierde por olvidar este parte importante de nuestro estado, soy yo.

I agree with your post. Our local association in Northern Virginia offers a class "Beginning Spanish for Realtors" twice a year. I'm thinking about signing up. Also our RE/MAX brokerage is offering a new class on approaches to working with the Hispanic market
