It's official. Utah has just had its coldest, wettest Spring on record.
How do we deal with it? We let Summer start on time tomorrow.
Longest days and shortest nights. If we could move further north, say beyond the Arctic circle, we could have 24 hours of sunlight each day for quite a while, or to the Southern Hemisphere to enjoy the onset of Winter. (A tongue-in-cheek nose waggle to my Australian friends)
With a cool Spring and lots of snow, Utah is still waiting for its major snow melt and resultant flooding.
Salt Lake County is providing exercise for locals by calling for 300 volunteers tomorrow to fill 10,000 sandbags 2 - 8pm. Stores of filled sandbags have been depleted by residents anticipating the flooding.
It has been suggested that you bring a shovel, 5 gal bucket, gloves and water.
