We here in the Intermountain West are happy to pass the mantle of seismic news reports to other parts of the country.
After yesterday's occurrence, citizens of the east may have developed a new understanding, or awareness, of seismic activity, the movement of the earth at unexplained times.
Those who follow my blog are aware that I have a hobby of studying seismic events in the Utah and Yellowstone Region (the Intermountain Corridor).
The corner to corner chiasmus of the map (draw an X) I use seems to place my abode at the crossover of the X, hence my hobby attachment to this area.
A mere 24 events this work, well short of recent 65s, and very low considering annual average numbers of events, and figures in the micro range, have made it a quiet, almost uneventful, week.
We are happy to let others grab the headlines as we continue in peace and relative calm.
My comments on my hobby are, as always, to inform, never to alarm.
