Fair housing laws, we know the rules but does everyone go by them?  I just completed two days of property management classes at the board. If anyone belonging to the salt lake board needs ce classes I would suggest this class to you.  I think I have adult ADD so the idea of sitting thru two days of classes made me a little nervous, but I loved the class and both days flew by. Great information, especially in this market where we have investors and a lot of people needing to rent and sellers who are opting to rent their homes vs. selling them. 

One thing that I was bothered by were the stories of others in the room.  I was amazed at the stories I heard other people share, not everyone was a realtor so it was fascinating to hear what others had to say about how they screen applicants.  The instructor played two Fair Housing videos which really made some of them shut up for lack of a better way to say it.  I placed both videos below.

To me its common sense, but I guess to others it may not be that simple.... make sure if you are diving into rental management or property management for others that you follow all the fair housing rules and regulations.
