ERA Utah Brokers Council Training - Drive Home

It took a few days to get these photos up - but here they are

The first on is on Highway 389 in Arizona, just outside of the Paiute Reservation, between Hurricane and Fredonia.

Highway 389 in Arizona This one is on Highway 89 between Kanab and Big Water at the turn off to the Old Paria Movie Set. The set was burned down a few years ago and currently there is a fund raiser going on to have it rebuilt. I took this photo a couple of months ago, but on the way home from the training, got the same view, so I decided to repost it. Old Paria Movie Set Turn Off

This photo is also at the Old Paria Movie Set Turn off looking back toward the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument. You can see the different levels "Staircase" of mountains going back toward the monument.

Virginia - Thank you! You're up late too ~ night owls, one and all.

You guys have some of the prettiest scenery in the USA. I have been to Grand Canyon 3 times and am ready for more!

It is a pretty area of your state! I drove thought there many years ago and was completely awe struck by the beauty.

Trey - Have you tried Zion and Bryce? From the Page Lake Powell area everything is about 2.5 hours away. Both rims of the Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce, Navajo National Park (which has Betatakin) as well as several other. Now the new Grandstaircase Escalante National Monument is just a stones throw. Page - Lake Powell is a great place to headquarter in this area and do all the "park" trips. Google "grand circle" to see all of the parks so dang close to here.

Mary - I've always thought it was beautiful, but... about a year ago I had surgery (PRK) on my eyes, and must say - WOW. I guess I never had a clear view of what is really out there before!

Wow, just like we see in the movies! I would be scared to drive there, it looks like there is nothing for miles! Great photos though!

Shannon - Yes, they've made a LOT of movies around here. And, yes, there is nothing for miles. From where I live to where my office is in Kanab, Utah - 57 miles. Page Arizona is the most remote town, over 5000 souls, in the lower 48. However, we have LAKE POWELL!!! For me, Page is 17 miles away from  home  but some of the most beautiful 17 miles on eath :-)

57 miles! WOW!! Now THAT is a commute! I'm guess there is no traffic around there though! hehe... I'm hoping to, one day, make a visit to areas like this and experience them for myself!

Thanks for sharing!

Shannon ~ actually i do the "virutal office". I do head over a couple of times a month, but for the most part doing business on my end of the county and then into the Arizona side of Northern Coconino County. I just had a thought, and went a took a couple of shots off my driveway back at the Grandstaircase Escalante National Monument. I'll post those in the next couple of days. Think i got a good one with one of my dogs wandering out to the desert :-)

Ok, phew!

I'd love to see the photos! I've flown over the area, but sad to say, I've never been to the middle parts of our country, just the coasts! What can I say, I love the water too much!

 Heather,

Thanks for the post. Great scenic beauty, that provides an eye to the natural wonders of the area.

William - I got the photos off my camera from yesterday that I took standing in my driveway :-) Good thing I did it yesterday, raining good here today. This is good news - we only get between 4 and 8 inches a year so we like it when it rains :-)

Heather, The photos are great.  Thanks for sharing them.  Love your background too.

Bob - Thanks! The background is a photo I took on Lake Powell as a light May storm was moving in. The one on the header I took on a windy July afternoon from on of our scenic overlooks right off the highway. It was noon, and people were sitting in the shade of the gazebo eating lunch. Don't know why I remember that, other than I was happy to see folks enjoying.
