The market in Payson, Utah

In the last 120 days there has been 42 homes sold ranging from $114,000.00 to $600,000.00. I have to say that is not that bad, it is great to know there are still buyers out there that can buy a home. I have noticed the phones ringing more from either buyers or agents wanting to see homes in Payson. It is pretty challenging when there are over 158 homes on the market. I am really greatful that buyers are learning that short sales are really not that short, and that sometimes they are not that great of deal. The media is starting to put these banks on the hot seat, and the banks can't come up with any good reasons on why they are taking so long to close out these short sales. I have a friend that in order for her to get a loan for her home 2.5 years ago, she did one of those variable rate loans. She is currently with Country Wide, they have a loan retention program that is supposed to help people like her and they won't even work with her. Her interest is now @ 9%. I know other people that are with Country Wide with differnt situations and they can't get any help either.
