Simply Say Thank You to Our Troops
This morning I awoke and was drawn to the window to look outside and see a blanket of snow covering the ground. The snowflakes shine as if millions of little crystals are blanketing the ground. What beauty that holds.
To You Our Troops, I Thank You for Giving Us Our Freedom.
Each day I’m given the opportunity to hold my children, hug them, listen to their stories, and tenderly give them a kiss each night and say “I love you”.
To You Our Troops, I Thank You for Giving Us Our Freedom.
Day after day I find myself driving down the road, venturing to my destination, whether it be for work or to see a family member or friend, the simplicity of it all makes me grateful.
To You Our Troops, I Thank You for Giving Us Our Freedom.
As I kneel down to pray and return to my pillow for a peaceful sleep, I can only think in my mind, this wouldn’t be possible if it weren’t for the beautiful men and woman who are protecting our country and how you are angels among us, protecting us with your light, unselfishly giving your all to make our simple moments possible. A knot is in my throat and tears fall from my eyes because the sacrifice you are giving each and every one of us is more than a human soul can give.
To You Our Troops, I Thank You for Giving Us Our Freedom.
Please take a moment to Simply Say Thank You to Our Troops.
Let's Say Thank You This takes only 5 minutes of your time, think of the endless minutes that our troops sacrifice.

Good Morning Julie,
I've missed you recently here in the Rain.
You know I agree with you, our troops deserve our gratitude and this is a wonderful opportunity to show them how much we do appreciate them and their families for their service, dedication and sacrifice.
Julie - Wonderful. I say it takes less than a minute to put the card together, I just did about six other members "LetsSayThanks" localism post based off of Margaret Woda's request to challenge us all to post a localism about our gratitude to our troops. Just splendid job here, of course I have grown to expect excellence from you my dear friend!!
Julie, I often wonder if they realize how much we truly appreciate all they are doing for us. I certainly will take the time to go to the site you recommended to let them know that are appreciated and blessed.
Julie, what a wonderful post! Freedom is not free! Thank God for our troops!
We sent lots of stuff to our son when he was in Iraq but he told me there were a number of soldiers that were alienated from their family and did not receive much. He said the time flew that he was there but the holidays just felt like another day.
I'm really excited to have our son home for the holidays. Well in Fort Hood but he drives home every weekend. We thought he was heading back to Iraq in December but now it is not until March. This is a bit of a double edged sword though. He is supposed to be getting out in August but will now be extended until such time as his unit gets out of Iraq and they now have 15 month tours.
Our daughter is a flight attendant working with a charter company that has one of the contracts to move our troops. She LOVES the troop flights. We have the most incredible MILITARY. There are a lot of parts of the government where I just shake my head but THANK GOD FOR OUR MILITARY!!
Julie, I think we can never say thank you enough for the sacrifices these service men and women make for our freedom. As a mother I couldn't imagine going away from my children. They're grown now, but I simply don't know how a mother with little ones does it.
Thanks for such a timely reminder! You're such a caring person.
WOW SNOW ALREADY! I'm not ready for it here in Maryland yet. Thanks for the reminder about the website I will check it out and see what I can do!
Julie- Thank you so much for the links, I am so grateful for what our men and women are doing for us overseas, and I am ever so grateful for the freedom we have through their sacrifice. A great post my friend!
Simply beautiful! Thanks for posting this.
Julie - Are you making snow angels yet? Thanks for this heartfelt post. Very touching.
Cynthia: You are such a sweet friend. Thank you for being here. I didn't go too far. I found myself short on time and kept getting kicked out of AR for the past 2 days. I would make as many comments as possible and the bleep. I was booted out.
Margaret's idea to post the Thank You to our troops is so simple and what gratitude it puts in the heart to express that Thank You.
Candace: You are right, it does only take less then a minute. I found myself so caught up in the darling pictures drawn by children. What amazing talent they have and to express their gratitude is priceless. Your post is beautiful and what an inspiration you are my friend. Thank you for being here.
Carole: I just love to see you here. I have some major catching up to do and I will be over to visit your blogs very soon. Thank you for your wonderful comment and enjoy this beautiful site filled with angels that drew many beautiful pictures.
Marchel: Reading your comments made me cry, a good cry, but one of pure gratitude. Please hug your son for me and tell him I said Thank You. Your comments are beautiful and I appreciate you sharing your story. I am so glad that your son will be home for the holidays. What a moment to truly treasure. I can see why your daughter would love to be on the flights with our troops. What a humbling feeling that would be.
Linda: Oh I completely agree with you. My heart aches for the families who have a parent, spouse, child, friend who is away. When I see the news of local troops leaving and the families seeing them off, I wish I could be there, just to say Thank You. As you mentioned, the Thank You's don't have a limit. Did you see Marchel's comments. Grab a tissue and prepare yourself. How can a family alienate their soldier? I want to reach out to them all. I wish that I had the power and resources to do even more. I don't want anybody to feel alone ever.
Michael: Yep that snow was falling in it's beauty the past couple of days and for the moment we will enjoy it. You are so welcome and thank you for stopping by.
Alecia: I'm so glad you stopped by. That gratitude is a great feeling and how we all need to come together and get those Thank You's out there. Thank you for your beautiful comment.
Margaret: Thank you my friend for the inspiring blog that you posted and to encourage all of us to do the same.
Tom: We sure are and some big snow balls. Are you ready to catch? Thank you for your kind comment!
Hi Julie! You did a beautiful job incorporating your thankful heart into this post. Thanks for visiting mine, too! Have a great day and stay warm in that snow!!
Sarah: Thank you for your very kind comment. You are such a sweet friend. You are welcome for visiting yours. I look forward to each of your posts. It's hot chocolate time for sure.
Julie,
It is right to give thanks to out troops. The mere idea that I can sit in the peace and quite of my room at a table and comment on something that in another country could get us killed makes me proud of all the men and women that put their lives on the line for my freedom. God bless the ones that gave the ulimate sacrifice so unselfishly, and may their families gather strength from God to move on.
Julie, you have aheart as big as Utah. I am so glad to be in the same company as you.
Sincerely
Tom Braatz

Julie, I have just had two friends return from serving with the military in the Persian Gulf. I saw one of them Tuesday evening. He was in Iraq for about 14 months flying planes (and avoiding getting shot). He said he is so thankful to be home and to be "flying his desk" and only working 12 hours a day. You could just tell that he was savoring every drop of his beer! My other friend from the Air Force returned from Qatar this week. I haven't seen him yet, but apparently he gained 20 pounds of muscle during his 5 months there!
My prayers are always with our troops.
Julie--What a very nice sentiment...Well thought out and I for one echo your thanks to all who serve!
Thank you for the YOuTube and thank you for the operation give and I am going to pray and give. Have your best night ever!
Julie, thanks for the great links! I will be doing whatever I can to make our troops happier this Christmas. Your post is very well done!
Another military post to feature.....
WOW...my fingers are getting tired from all of this....
hehehehehe!!
=-)
Julie: GREAT reminder of all the wonderful blessings we enjoy because someone else chose to give up their comforts and fight for ours. EVERY ONE of us should do our part to send some of our blessings to them at the time of the year...and remember them in our prayers daily. Blessings, my friend!
P.S. I'm jealous of the snow. Will you send me a little bit down here? :-)
Woohoo to our troops! I have another client coming back from Afghanistan. You are the one to pass a message with a clear....giving back to others!
Julie,
What a great message for our troops! I'm still waiting for the first snow up here, maybe tomorrow...:)
Tom: You are such a kind hearted soul. Thank you so much for leaving such a heartfelt comment. What a difference our troops do make for us. I only wish there were a way for each of them to truly know the gratitude that we all feel. How my heart aches for each of them and the ones with families that have disowned them. I only wish I had the power to reach out and hug each of them. But for now that is in God's hands and we will have to find other ways to reach out.
Have a beautiful day my friend!
Brian: Thank you my dear friend for sharing your friends with us. When you see them, please hug them for me and tell them I said thank you from me and my family. I am so truly grateful for their existence in this world and making such an incredible sacrifice for everyone of us.
I wish for all of our troops to come home soon.
Have a beautiful day Brian!
Teri: Thank you for stopping by my friend and leaving such a kind comment. I hope your day is filled with beauty!
Pat: Thank you for stopping by. I'm so glad you enjoyed that beautiful song. Our troops are truly angels among us. Have a beautiful day.

Alexander: Thank you for the feature. You my dear friend are such a wonderful person and I hope your day is filled with many wonderful things.
Elizabeth: What a very giving heart you have my friend. Your words speak in volumes and yes EVERY ONE of us need to take just a moment and pray for our troops.
Oh the snow can be absolutely beautiful. We have more dropping today. I think it's time to go make a snow angel!
Sally: Thank you for stopping by to comment. I'm so very happy that your client is coming back soon. Please make sure you give him/her a big hug for me and a thank you! I hope your day is filled with beauty.
Suzanne: Good morning my friend! Thank you for your very kind comment. The snow is here for sure. I woke up this morning with another beautiful blanket of snow on the ground. The fun and excitement of playing in it. My munchkins are skurying about to go play in it now. It's sounds like it's going to be a day for snow ball, snow angels, and hot chocolate.
Julie, thanks for the reminder. In this climate and this season we often get so disctracted. They heros and men and women who need to remembered in our thoughts and prayers. They chose to do for us what needs to be done so we and our families can have better lives. I hvae heard it said that there are only two people who will give thier life for us, first is Jesus for our ultimate freedom, and second is the American soldier for our freedom in America.
Julie
What a beautiful thoughtful post. I have several friends who have spouse's, children and other family members in the service. My many thanks for them all! My daughter actually presented a Thank you Blanket her school made for the troops about 4 years ago. She talks about it frequently it was a wonderful experience for her as small child. (Now 13). Your graphics are wonderful!
PS. Although its cold here in Delaware no snow. :( enjoy the beauty of all.
Stephen: You are so welcome! Thank you for such a very insightful comment. Your words are felt from the heart and how true they are. Jesus did give his life for us and our soldiers are doing the same. What angels they are. I wish I could tell them all how much I love them and appreciate their sacrifice. I hope you have a fantastic week.
Katie: Thank you for being here to comment and leaving such a touching comment. You are indeed surrounded by the unselfish angels that are fighting for our freedom. That is so beautiful that your daughter presented a blanket to the troops. I'll bet each and every one of them felt that deep in their heart and souls.
Our children grow so quickly don't they? What a memorable experience that will always be for your daughter. Thank you again for sharing and your kind comments.
I wish for you to have snow soon! Have a wonderful week my friend.
