About the Carlyle District

Carlyle TowersThe Carlyle District is part of Alexandria VA. The Carlyle District differs markedly from the colonial stylings of Old Town, but the brick high-rises of the Carlyle District compliment the historic structures of Alexandria.

More than 5,000 people reside in the Carlyle District, and that number is expected to double by 2010. In addition to the many residences of the Eisenhower Valley (The Royalton, Carlyle Towers, Carlyle Square, The Exchange, and more) the Carlyle District is home to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

The Carlyle District is home to both residences and commercial space, giving it an urban vibrant feel where many restaurants flourish despite being so close to the many restaurants of Old Town.

The Carlyle District is served by both the King St. Metro and the Eisenhower Metro. Alexandria's Union Station is nearby and the area is well served by DASH and Metrobus. In addition the Carlyle District is just inside the Beltway giving it easy access to several major commuter routes.
