I love a Driveway!

In real estate there is always something about a particular home or property that I find appealing. Many times for me it is the land itself. I always feel that a home can be changed or updated but the land is something that sets the tone of an estate in Charlottesville.

Charlottesville Driveway

I often see a "driveway" and my imagination goes wild as to what gems are out of my sight.

Do you ever do that?

This driveway in Albemarle County is a prime example. Do you wonder what is at the end of it too?

Stay tuned for more details!

I love mine too. . .but when it snows. .

Charles, I have to agree with you on that one too. I live in close proximity to a very well to do area of town. Some of the drive ways go off to who knows what, but I do wonder what is at the end. I have had the chance to go up some and have been pleasantly surprised a few times. Either way... it does bring a sense of wonder.

Charles,

And there's something particularly neat about a 'gravel' one!!! Thanks,   Fran

Charles:  I agree.  As a matter of fact, I have several paintings of paths that lead through a gate but you cannot see where it goes.  I just love to imagine what may lie beyond.

I grew up in the country so I too love the driveways! Where I'm from, driving back and give you a gorgeous home or just an old barn.

Nice pic! Hi Charles, hope all is well.

Charles, you should write teasers for tv shows.  The ones that keep you hanging till next week to find out what happens...

I can't wait to see what is at the end of this gravel road!

Beautiful photography!

Yes I do Charles. Sometimes I ease up on them in my truck but am ready to duck if whoever is home starts starts  a shootin.' :)

Charles, LOL, thought I was the only curious one in this world. So what was at the end of the drive????

Fran - My grandparents had a gravel driveway and it was the only one I every saw in their part of Arlington.  They refused to pave it because they liked the character of it.  Over time I came to understand.  That soft rumble as you drive onto it is great - always a telltale sign when someone was arriving.

My mother-in-law had a house that was on a lakefront property that was hidden from site. You had to go down a gravel drive just like the one in your picture. It wound around a bend, then suddenly you were treated with a gorgeous view of the lake sparkling in the sunlight. Memorable and breathtaking!

Charles- I agree, I use to drive down them just to see what is at the end in my younger days.

Charles - You live in a really beautiful area of our country!!!

Charles  That is a lovely driveway, but it would not be wise to follow someone too closely unless you enjoy eating stone,  Karen
