Elizabeth Lake Estates is a well established

community of 319 homes with approximately

1/3 of the homes bordering waterways leading to

the Hampton Roads harbor with access to the

was selected as the Virginia Statewide Neighborhood

Conference "Neighborhood of the Year" in

of this neighborhood. Elizabeth Lake was the

first covenant community in Virginia and the

first to incorporate a cul-de-sac design. This

blazed the trial for older

covenant communities when

it became the first in

Hampton to incorporate a

service district that allowed

association fees to be incorporated

into property tax assessments.
