YOU NEVER KNOW WHERE YOU'LL FIND AN INTERESTING PHOTO.
Keep your camera handy.
Driving out my driveway Monday, something caught my eye and I had to stop, grab my camera and shoot the photo below.
I have a well right next to the driveway. It was the only place on my lot that the health department would approve digging. So, there's that well head right by the driveway. I "decorated" it with some bamboo poles.
It appears that a spider has taken up residency there.

great spiders web... we are coming into a great season for photographing them... fog or moisture in the morning... but I usually am not good at catching them.
Lenn,
Well, well...!!! :) Thanks, Fran
Great pic, Lenn. Despite NOT being a spider fan, I can appreciate the beauty of their webs.
Jeff
Len - We have thaat same pattern here in Charlotte. Nice pic
Maureen. I just noticed this one on the way out a few days ago. I don't even know if it's still there, but I captured it for posterity.
Fran. My pleasure.
Jeff. Indeed. It's an architectural masterpiece.
Claude. HA! That fellow must get around.
Oh Lenn, I tried all last summer to get a photo of a spider web at my cottage. I could NEVER get it right. This is great.
What? No Wordless Wednesday ?
LOL
Missy. I couldn't have found this priceless web if I'd search for ages. Well, perhaps across the road in the wooded area. I just happened by it while driving out.
I spied it out of the corner of my car, stopped and got some shots. It turned out better than I expected.
I don't do wordlesses. I have to feed Google.
Lenn, the spider just has good taste on where to live, and to top it off it has a great view of your flowers :)
Thanks George. I try to keep some type of colorful blossoms around year round.
Lenn, Spiders are such great artists. You are right about having the camera ready...
It is indeed a very special photo. Glad you manage to notice it in your busy day.
Great photo Lenn. I'm keep forgetting my camera lately. My blogging days are few and far between right now.
Beauty is all around us all we need to do is look for it. Thanks for the photo.
Momma spider is making lace doiles for you Lenn! How lucky for you!
kk
Lenn- I should have taken a photo of a gorgeous spider web my son found a couple of weeks back. Maybe we will go see if it is still there tomorrow.
Did you know that when a hurricane is coming the spiders actually go out to their webs and take them down? I was so amazed to learn that in my son's k-3 homeschool science class he goes to. Miss Cherry told the students that this is one of the ways we can know that a hurricane is coming. The ants also go into the ground and you will not see any ants crawling around Florida when a hurricane is coming. Oh, just recalled, it is that time of year to start blogging about preparedness.
Katerina. Interesting. Perhaps spiders can sense a falling barometer. When it's all over for the homo sapiens, I guess the only ones left will be the spiders and ants.
Kristal. Thanks. I thought it quite lovely. Living lace, indeed.
Terry. Yes indeed and I see it all around me every day.
Kay. I feel undressed without my camera. I've been known to turn around and go back home to fetch it if I'm not more than a half mile or so out.
Loorena. Thanks. It's amazing what we come across when just doing our job.
Paul. Aren't they though? I marvel at the precision of their handiwork.
We can learn a lot from the spiders and the ants...and if that's who is left standing when it's all over, that's not a bad thing. They will be good guardians of the earth.
Great photo...I love spider webs and especially those really big spiders...they are just too cool.
That is great picture of a spider web. My daughter is OK with them outside but inside that's a different story.
Susan. It is sheer beauty. I never cease to marvel at them.
Mark. Thanks. I tend to agree with your daughter.
Lenn,
I sometimes think that the best photo subjects are when I do not have my camera with me (LOL)
Jon. HA! Something we have all learned when we get out without our camera and see a spectacular scene.
hEy gf!
Can't believe someone as busy as you...with such [AR] stature...and a life CONSUMED by RE...would even take the time to admire the beauty and intracacies of a spider web! You go girlfriend! You're 'still the best...better than all the rest'! Kinda' like Tina Turner... :)
Renee. Thanks. Nice to hear from you. Being old and crotchity doesn't keep me from admiring something as amazing as a spider web.
Goodness, it takes only a minute to stop and observe a thing of beauty.
