A huge project like the light rail system in Norfolk called the TIDE needs to be transparent. Apparently Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) doesn't think so. Council members want numbers and projections and are not getting them. The city nees to stay on top of this issue as many millions of dollars are at stake. HRT says it is hard to come up with exact numbers as things are in flux like the station design and parking at the Military Highway sight. Council needs a handle on the funding and they need it real soon.

California has been trying for about 50 years to build a bullet train from San Diego to L.A. to San Francisco/Oakland to Sacramento.
Unfortunately, this state likes to study things first. With the billions of dollars they've spent studying, they could have just built it. Current projected cost if we started this year is up in the $40 billion range.
Maybe we can get the Federal government to bail us out. LOL
