Well, I didn't want to do it, but I felt it was best...
I received my first lead through ACTIVE RAIN!
I couldn't take it! :( The potential client was coming into town in a couple of weeks with family members. Her daughter and fiancee are going to be buying a home in Hampton Roads, following his assignment to Portsmouth for work.
Unfortunately, being out of town that weekend, I would not have the opportunity to meet them, show property, or otherwise develop a relationship with them.
So I turned this lead over to someone else in my office. She was very appreciative and I know she will take excellent care of these buyers. I think I did the right thing...
I hope for other leads through activerain!

The rain is a good source for attracting consumers.
Oh that makes me sick when that happens. Hopefully she sells it and you get your referral fee.
well, if your schedules do not mesh, then you doing them a favor by referring them out to someone you know. if they buy then you should get a nice referral fee. not all that bad.
I am in "don't leave town" mode now. It gets really busy for me this time of year and it is hard to turn down deals now.

Hi Bethany,
Congrats on your first AR lead, and also for doing the right thing for your clients.
Doing the right thing may sometimes hurt for the moment but I'm sure it will pay you back over time. You couldn't have been there and you acted in someone else's best interest, above and beyond your own. I think that speaks volumes.
Congrats on getting your first AR lead. Even though you had to refer it out, you should focus on the positive that your efforts here are paying off.
Thank you to everyone for your comments. It was a hard decision, but the right one, as I said. Wish you all the best -- dont forget to change your clocks this weekend!
