NASCAR NATION: Goody's Fast Pain Relief 500 in Martinsville VA

Rubbin's racin'! Martinsville was everything Bristol wasn't. Thank goodness! Jimmie Johnson proved why he is a 3-time champion (in a row, might I add). The qualifying rainout meant that my boy, Jeff Gordon, was in pole position to start the race. I was hopeful, too, when he started so strongly. Then it seemed to be a race between Jeff and Denny Hamlin. At the closing stretch, it was a battle between Hamlin and eventual winner, Jimmie. Now, I am not a fan of the spinout to win. But, I think a little bump and run is A-OK in my book. Although, when Jimmie bumped into Denny, it looked like he was about to take both of them out. You could just feel Smoke (Tony Stewart) lickin' his chops thinking that he was going to skate into first. The skills of both Denny and Jimmie and the distance to Tony's car saved anyone from causing a huge wreck and ruining anyone's chances at finishing. So, congrats are in order for Jimmie Johnson. Even though my boy didn't win, Jeff still garned another Top 5 finish which widened his points lead in the Cup race. It's just a matter of time until he's in the winner's circle. Rick Hendrick had to be proud today. All four of his drivers finished in the top 10 (Jimmie 1st, Jeff 4th, Mark Martin 7th and Dale Earnhardt Jr 8th). And on the 25th anniversary of his becoming an owner. What do you think of the late race bump and run from Jimmie? Was it kosher or not? Tune in to the Fox channel next Sunday, April 5th, at 1:30pm EST for the Samsung 500 at Texas Motor Speedway's 1 1/2 mile oval track.
