Spring has Sprung: Fresh Produce at Northern Virginia 2009 Farmer's Markets

It is time to break away from the grocery store and sample the fresh produce, meats and baked goods offered at local farmer's markets. To help you plan your shopping, I have assembled some information about some of the markets located in and around the Reston area in Northern Virginia. This list is not intended to be all inclusive. Reston Farmers Market at Lake Anne Plaza Saturdays beginning May 9 and running through October from 8:00 am to 12 noon,

Vienna Farmers Market, Saturdays from 8 am to 12 noon opens May 2 and runs through October 9. . Please note that this year there is a new location: The Caboose Parking Lot (corner of Church Street and Dominion Road, NE)

St Francis Episcopal Church Farmers Market in Great Falls, Saturdays May 3 from 8 am to 12 noon. Located at 9220 Georgetown Pike, Great Falls, VA 22066,

Cascades Farmer's Market in Sterling, Sundays from 9am- 1pm, May 3-October 25 located at the Senior Center behind Home Depot (21060 Whitfield Place)

Frying Pan Farmers Market in Herndon, Wednesdays , 8:00 am - 12:30 pm, May 6 - October 28. Located at the Frying Pan Farm Park, 2709 West Ox Road, Herndon, in front of Frying Pan Country Store
