Congress Passes Tax Credit Extension and Expands to Include Existing Homeowners
The new bill extends the current tax credit of $8000 to first time home buyers for contracts written by April 30 2010 and settled by June 30 2009. There will be no extension past June 2010.
The bill also includes a $6500 Tax Credit for homeowners who have lived in their homes for the last 5 years and have adjusted gross incomes of less than $150,000 (indiviuals) and $225,000 (joint filers).
