Foreclosure Rescue Scams – Beware!!

If you or someone you know is facing foreclosure, beware of these scams.

• If anyone asks you to pay a fee for a counseling service or a loan modification on your mortgage – DO NOT PAY FOR IT! There are many free services that can help you out. Go to the HUD website for more info.
• Beware of people who pressure you to sign papers immediately.
• DO NOT sign over the deed to your property to any organization or individual unless you are working directly with your mortgage company to forgive your debt.If someone says they can save your home if you sign over the deed to them, DO NOT DO IT!
• Never make any mortgage payments to anyone other than your mortgage company without their approval.
