Fall is upon the Roanoke Valley in Virginia! Acorns have been falling for weeks now, the grass is starting to die and leaves are beginning to fall. In a couple of weeks the peak of fall will hit Southwest Virginia with all of its glory! The Blue Ridge Parkway, which runs directly through Roanoke VA, will be packed with sight seeing people looking at the amazing colors that the Mountains of the Roanoke Valley have to offer.
The peak for color in the Roanoke Valley usually seems to be somewhere between the second and third week of October. If you happen to drive through, try to stop at the Peaks of Otter for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. The food is great and the ambiance is classic laid back Southwest VA!
