Does anyone know how bankruptcy laws in the state of Virginia work?
The situation is that a homeowner has filed chapter 7. The first lien holder filed a motion for relief of stay.....of course it was granted. Eventually, the bk was discharged. The homeowner then worked out a loan mod with the first. The second, which was discharged in the bk still holds a lien on the home. How is this allowed and what can the homeowner do to get this lien released without paying the second?
