As the leaves start to drop with the area temperature (this morning we were at or near freezing), it's time to change the oil on the snow thrower, make sure you have fresh gas, and some of that stuff you can spray in the carburetor should you have a tough time starting it just when you need it. I am heading out to get what I need to tune mine up today.
For snow throwers, you want to get one early. They disappear quickly as do snow shovels. When you have a good one, you had better guard it. I had a "back saver" model lifted from the side of my house last Winter. Although I tend to think I live in a low crime neighborhood, apparently we have a few "kleptos" among us.
Further advice for the Winter, such as putting heating tape near your roofline and your gutters as well as other Home and money saving advice can be found in this article in one of the Nation's Best Newspapers (no, they didn't pay me to say that) , The Washington Post.
