Book Sale at the Arlington VA Central Library

The Friends of the Arlington Public Library will be holding their semi-annual Book Sale this Thursday through Sunday, April 7-10.

This is a great time to add some new books to your home library. You will find volumes covering every topic, including history, biography, mystery, science fiction, cookbooks, children's books, home decorating, and more. In addition to books, there will be hundreds of CDs and DVDs for all ages.

My kids and I usually attend this event every day of the sale, finding great books each time we go. I love mystery and suspense books and stock up my library twice a year. Most of hardcover books, like new, are sold for $2-3 each, softcover 25-50 cents. On Sunday, all books are half price, so arrive early to avoid a very long line.

  • Thursday, April 7, 5:30-9 p.m. - Members only (Memberships available at the door)
  • Friday, April 8 - Saturday, April 9, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. - Open to all
  • Sunday, April 10, 12-6 p.m. - Open to all - everything half price
  • Location: Arlington Central Library (map), Parking Garage (upper level)

I have been visiting the library with my children since they were toddlers. Our frequent visits developed love for reading in both of them. My 11-year daughter and 10-year old son visit the library with me at least once a week. They insisted on going with me today, so they could take some pictures for my post.

I forgot to mention - the Arlington Central Library was featured in Washingtonian, as one of the best libraries in the area. So take time out of your busy schedule and visit it soon. I'm sure you'll find something interesting to read for yourself and your family.
