Rockingham County Fair Conversations

It is not typical to find an architect with a booth at a county fair, but there I am again looking for conversations. I met one man that was not interested in green building, but after some conversation, we figured out that he does like to save money. On this platform we discussed multiple green building ideas that he loved (because they would all save money). Most people will shut down an idea without thinking it through. He had done this with green building until I pushed a little. Once he figured out I was not trying to change him, he was open to the idea.

Another conversation with a younger person who was entering my coloring contest was a little easier. He wants to be an architect when he grows up and was concerned with his drawing skills. We discussed the software available that he could use to supplement any weakness he had and the importance of practice. He was not at the fair to ride the rides, but to help his grandfather in one of the food booths. I could tell he had a big heart and loved his grandpa. I hope one day he becomes a famous architect and lives out his childhood dream.
