If you live along the east coast you are probably preparing for Hurricane Irene. High winds and the storm surge are dangerous and potentially deadly.

According to some reports Hurricane Irene may be the most dangerous storm to hit the east coast in over 100 years.

If you live inland but close to a body of water you should be aware of rising waters especially during high tides

I grew up in eastern N. C., lived on a barrier island in Florida for over 26 years and now live in southeastern Virginia, so I have seen my share of hurricanes.
