Divorce and Separation Listings

Listing agents are often contacted by spouses evaluating selling their home while discussing resolving their marital difficulties via separation or divorce.
In such circumstances the agent needs to remember to be focused on a positive spirit of contributing to assisting the principals involved in pursuing whatever choices they settle on, which may or may not include selling or leasing out a home.
Those involved in the possible changes in marital situation often change their perspectives and plans. Getting information on selling a home does not necessarily mean that they have commited with clear mind to going forward with a sale. In addition, the other party to the marriage, who is often also named on the deed, may have very different ideas, and changing opinions.
In such situations an agent should be focused on providing accurate and timely information and answers to questions, not on closing signatures on a listing agreement.
The GOLD Team has worked with many couples in these situations and is always pleased to help.
