What used to be public housing in Norfolk is the popular Broad Creek community. This community is expected to get a $4.7 million dollar development. The development is the type usually reserved for higher end places like Ghent and Greemason. The condos will be three stories tall with with shops on the first floor and will be at the corner of Godfrey Ave, just west of Ballentine Blvd. The city helped by donating a piece of land $200,000 in infrastructure work. There will be 12 condos and 5,000 sq ft of office space when the developement is done and will be called the Villas at Broad Creek.
