Reston, VA is for Smart People!

US News & World Report released a piece that places Reston, VA in the Top Ten Brainiest places in the United States. The report did not rank the top 10, it merely listed them alphabetically. The piece based its assessment on "retirement destinations that attract highly educated folks". Half of the cities are in areas known for very good schools such as Berkeley, CA, Chapel Hill, NC, Ann Arbor, MI and Brookline, MA.

I've enjoyed my years of living in Reston and I do return frequently, this is just another tidbit to highlight the community in a positive manner.

Tchaka:  As a Northern VA resident, I'm pleased to hear it.  I've actually run into some of these relocating, retirement age individuals.  I hear VA, at least two years ago, was supposed to be a new retirement hot spot.

I saw that article today also.  Boulder Colorado was #3.  My clientele is exceptional and they keep me on top of my game.  Have you ever been to Crisfields in Silver Spring?  My favorite place for Seafood when visiting DC. Gregg Ashburn Realtor in Boulder CO.  http://www.realtyofboulder.com

Tchaka, I saw that news earlier today.  So, Reston is where all the braniacs hang out?

Chris Ann - Is Bristow considered Northern VA now?  Geez those borders keep expanding!  I remember my dad once telling me that Tysons Corner was the boondocks when he was growing up.   It was a long drive from Arlington back then.  Can you believe it?

Gregg - Boulder is #3 alphabetically! :-)  I have not been to Crisfields, my girlfriend's from the Annapolis area and she would not accept anything less than a restaurant from her town as the best for seafood (at least for MD crabs).  One of her sisters is in Denver and we hope to visit your area before long.

Brian - You're invited to Reston the next time I'm up.  We like to start out with differential equations and logarhythms for small talk before getting into deeper discussions, so don't forget your TI.

That is so cool...as a lifelong Reston resident, I like to think I boost the brain power (just kidding!).

Funny....where's my hometown?

Holly - We wouldn't have made it without you!  :-)

Mike - My cousin went to school there and it's supposed to be a pretty cool place.  A little too far from the beach for me though.

Larry - Next year.  They're already scouting IL out!  I think you're competing against East St. Louis though....

Saw your facebook pics from Reston with Polly- Looked like a great day here in pleasantville- What a "smart" way to spend time together.....

If I am right there are a lot of technology and computer companies in the Reston area.

Tchaka,
Interesting!  My brother lives in Great Falls, Va just a few miles from Reston and I do believe Pam is right so that must be the explanation.
