South Norfolk otherwise known as SONO is a community that is in the process of being revitalized. As a member of the South Norfolk Civic League and The Greater South Norfolk Business Consortium I have meet an outstanding group of community minded people. All interested in the best for South Norfolk - SONO. All very vocal with City Council expressing their views and concerns about everything that is taken place and is to take place in the future.

The Greater South Norfolk Business Consortium is interested in bringing businesses to the local area. A bright economic future for SONO!

The South Norfolk Civic League has a mission to clean up the area, everything from boarded up buildings to storm water issues. I have to say they are making an impact! With new building codes in place from the city, perhaps the task may get a little easier. Look Out Slum Lords!

Some people have never heard of the area or don't even realize it's in Chesapeake. Some think its part of Norfolk. The South Norfolk section of Chesapeake is where the city begins. It's in the middle of everything, making it easy to get anywhere.

Maybe you're looking for a place to start a business or maybe a new place to call home. Well there's no better place to be than in an area that has a great community, a growing community, a caring community. Want to be part of something great? Consider SONO!!

Homes prizes are affordable, but when the Revitalization is in full swing, look out home prices. More on what's available....

Please note that some residents are not crazy about the abbreviation SONO. It's kind of catchy though and certainly can grow on a person. It's not meant to be offensive, which just goes to show the pride the residents have in what is South Norfolk.
