Spring is a time of new beginnings, a time of hope and expectation. What a great time of year to consider a move to Lake Anna.
I cannot think of another time that gets the heart racing just a bit more with anticipation of fun times ahead, time to be with family and friends, time to get the boat ready to launch for a new season of boating, water skiing, fishing, and swimming. Thoughts also turn to lounging in the hammock or sitting down by the dock. It can be a time to rest and reflect.
Just the thought of drifting along on the water at a leisurely pace soaking in the sights is enough to inspire many to begin the search for a place to call their own here at the lake. For some it will mean a change to full-time lake living and for others it will be the purchase of a part-time home or getaway that will ensure a positive attitude during the work week for their weary souls.
Right now, before the leaves fill in and block the views you can cruise around the lake spotting homes that are tucked in secluded coves and on wooded lots. You are able to get a different perspective of the many neighborhoods around the lake from your boat than you do as you drive the country roads in the area.
Spring is a time of clear skies providing beautiful sunrises and spectacular sunsets. The sky and water are often filled with color. Sometimes it is soft pastels; pinks, violets, buttery yellows and at other times we witness the glory of vivid oranges and reds along with hot pinks. these are the things we look forward to and appreciate time and again.
(Look, Mom, no filters, no Photoshop, no hands...just another breathtaking sunset viewed from my home.)

In the past couple of days, I've passed alpacas, goats, cows and horses looking just a tad bit more energetic, some even downright frisky. They sense the time of year and realize that warm weather is here to stay, the days are longer, and the sun is brighter. Like us, they know spring is here.
The sky seems bluer and the clouds even more billowy. Grass is turning greener and leaves are popping out on the trees while daffodils, hyacinths, and tulips are making their welcomed appearance. Homes that have been looking a little stark and beginning to soften with the advent of blooming flowers and shrubs.
Best of all are the smiles on people's faces. Our winters are not bad at all but no matter how mild the winter is there is such happiness when we realize spring is really here. Spring is Mother Nature's gift to us.
Now give yourself a gift.
Visit Lake Anna this spring.
You may love it just as I do!

Kathleen,
That looks like such a beautiful area. How lucky you are to be able to enjoy that day after day.
Kathleen, You really do like in a gorgeous place. I have always been attracted to the water. I love that sunset picture or was it a sunrise. I could not tell with the house.
Kathleen, I have never been to Lake Anna but it sounds very special....and precious. I love to be by the water and Springtime sounds just beautiful there.
It is simply beautiful! I love the water and gorgeous sunsets from my time in Florida. It looks so idyllic, white picket fence and all! I could not leave as each season must hold something special! your pictures are awesome!
Beautiful Kathleen! You are always here to enter a positive contest :) Happy Spring Views and good luck!
Okay, it's beautiful there but I still wish you were in Texas. I hope you are doing well and I'll see you later in the rain~Deb
Kathleen, this makes me want Spring and Summer more than ever. Is that a sand bar the boats are parked on and swimming? We have one on our lake too and it is great fun.
Kathleen, Did you take these photos? They are simply wonderful. Really nice photography here.
Carol...The wonderful thing is that we do enjoy being here. We take nothing for granted.
Take care,
Kathleen
Marchel...The top picture is of a sunset. It is not my home but I couldn't resist taking and using the photo. It looks so appealing. I do get sunsets like this also.
Cheers,
Kathleen
Carole...We thoroughly enjoy it all year long but there is something magical about springtime. Much of it is the anticipation of fun to come.
Kate
Rich...Thank you for your comment. I just love taking pictures and I'm so happy to have a place to share them. It is very nice here all year long.
Take care,
Kate
Kathleen...I love the picture with the mist over the lake...it makes it all look so "spiritual" Happy Spring!
Kathleen, This is a beautiful place. My grandparents own houses on two different lakes here in Georgia, and this is much of where I grew up, learning how to fish, swim, "right" a flipped canoe (which is no easy task, even for an adult), and explore. Your post takes me back to the days of my youth!
Sally...Just entering was a treat. It is always good to reflect on the things that make us happy and spring does make me even happier.
So a big thank you for the contest.
Kathleen
Karen...I love taking pictures and I feel so wonderful when you folks like them. Thank you.
Cheers,
Kathleen
Joan...I'm so happy you sense the "spirituality" which is what I feel so often just looking out at the water.
Happy spring to you too!
Kathleen
Bo...Anything that reminds us of happy times in our childhood is good. I'm glad these pictures took you back to that time. Hopefully you have many more good times ahead doing those same things.
Take care,
Kathleen
I love the picture of the sunset. I almost like the sunsets as well as I do the sunrises. At times maybe they are better as the day has wound down, the stars are becoming visible, and I can believe that maybe my phonee won;t ring until the morning has been here for a while. I love photography also, but find that the picture never really encompasses the true feeling that was there when it was taken. That sunset must have been awesome. Thank you for making it available to the rest of us.
Wayne...So glad you like the photo of the sunset. I took that from my deck. I have literally hundreds of sunset pictures. I keep a camera handy and sometimes as I come down our driveway and see the sun setting (this is usually in the winter when it sets earlier) I'm out of my car with the camera anxious to get some shots. While in the house I'm usually in our sunroom and invariably I watch the sun setting. Again I am often out the door onto the deck for more and more photos. It is an endless passion of mine.
Thanks for your comment and it is true that photos never do justice to a scene but it does help to conjure up the feeling that you are witnessing it. We just have to let out imaginations run away with us.
Take care
Kate
Kathleen, I join with your readers in being awed by the beauty of the sunset. You help us to vicariously experience your corner of the earth in a wonderful way. Thank you.
Hi Lola ...Thank you so much. If I wasn't so busy with real estate I would probably be out taking photos all day long. I enjoy it and am so happy to have a place to share them.
Take care,
Kathleen
