Virginia Beach Real Estate---Virginia Beach, a City; not a County...!

The Area of SE Va, sometimes called S Hampton Roads(although, no matter how much our Chamber of Commerce promotes the name, hardly anyone out of the area knows what S Hampton Roads is or where it is) consists of 5 Cities; Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Suffolk primarily---No Counties since the cities over time has absorbed what used to be a city/county arrangement.

Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, and Suffolk all have a large land mass and a less dense population base. Norfolk and Portmouth has a more traditional city type population with less land mass and a more dense population.

Virginia Beach has a population of app 425,000 with a land mass of 310 sq miles; Chesapeake has a population of app 210,000 with a land mass of 353 sq miles, and Suffolk a population of app 68,000 with a land mass of 480 sq miles. Comparatively Norfolk has a population of app 245,000 with a land mass of 66 sq miles and Portsmouth a population of app 106,000 with a land mass of 45.5 sq miles.
