I look back on the summer spent with the kids, Tyler 6 and Mollie 2 ½, we tried our best to have a new adventure every few days! High hopes for Parents of 2 kids that both work!! I think we were on the successful side of our goal. If not every few days, at least every weekend we were out and about exploring our city! One that has so much to offer without breaking the bank!

On this particular day, we thought a nice hike at First Landing State park would fit the bill! Shoes, Camera, Bug Spray, Sun Tan Lotion, Snacks, Water, a Towel or two (we always stop for a snack on the beach), and in the car we have 2 changes of clothes. Well, it looks like we are good to go!!

We like to enter the park on 64^th street and drive all the way in. It is easy to hop on the trail and be close to the car and beach from that end. There are tons of trails to choose from, some for bikes and some for just hikes! There is a boat launch, a bathroom and a water fountain!
