For those of us that may not have a fancy camera but want some control over exposure, you have very few options. One that I like and works if you practice is is to use the shutter button. We all know when you press it halfway down it pre-sets the exposure and focus so that when you do press the shutter button all the way down you get almost an instant shot or close to it. I use this to my advantage. Look at the pictures below. They were taken by an old Kodak 6440 that I still like and use a lot. These pictures were taken at a canal at the Honey Bee golf course in Virginia Beach in the subdivsion of Glenwood. The first picture was taken looking directily at the water and taking the picture of the clouds. The second picture was taken with me pre-setting the camera for some grass that was to the right of me and then holding the shutter button down and moving the camera back to the original spot. You might be able to get this in photo shop but not everyone does that.
