HALLOWEEN FESTIVITIES in WILLIAMSBURG VIRGINIA

HALLOWEEN IN WILLIAMSBURG VIRGINIA

Looking for something to do with the children this fall? Or do you need political relief and want to have some fun? Well, don't you know that there's always plenty to do in Williamsburg! The seasons change in Williamsburg, but the FUN doesn't stop!!

October 1-31 Halloween with Virginia's James River Plantation. Take haunted tours and have candlelit dinners. There are ghostly and spirited activities to suit every taste.

On the October 4,11,18,24-25, you can experience an evening of spiritied tale telling in Williamsburg's James River Plantation country on the James River Plantation Progressive Ghost Feast Tour & Dinner. Hear Legend of Rippons Run, visit the Harweek graveyard and hear of the Beechwood Tragedy. Each house tour is alternated with a to-die for dinner course.

October 17-18 If you want something not so scary, visit the Night of the Living Museum at the Virginia Living Museum in Newport News (which is about 25 minutes away from Williamsburg). This is a non-scary Halloween celebration for familiies with children ages 12 and under. They'll be live animal shows and a lantern walk through the night forest. Explore the haunted World of Darkness, meet the Storytelling Witch, Pumpkin Lady, Museum Wizard, Spider Lady and fortune-telling Gypsies. Search for gold in the maze; wear a costume and join in the Halloween parade. There will also be creepy crafts and kids' games too!

Ongoing on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays thru October 26 is Howl-O-Scream!!! I love it! Sad that summer is over & you can't go to Busch Gardens? Well, think again!! You can go to Howl-O-Scream for thrills and chills. You can be spooked and puked (roller coasters make me a little queasy!) all in one place.

October 27 HAUNTED FOREST 6-9:30 at Upper County Park in James City County Williamsburg VA. Journey through the forest for $1 or half price if you wear a costume. Go out after dark to experience a walk through the Haunted Forest for fun & fright and the things that go bump in the night!! For children 6 and younger, they can enjoy Goblinville with its moonwalks, playgroung equipment and a pumpkin patch hayride that travel through a maze of pumpkin faces & nursery rhume characters. Go pumpkin bowling, do some arts & crafts, play games, have lots of fun!!! Parking is free and a shuttle will be provied from Toano Middle School to the park. Call 757-259-5414 for more info.

Did you know that 15 million Americans visit a pumpkin patch or go on a hay ride each year? I'm one those Americans. I just love this time of year! Be Safe & Enjoy!!
