Easter on St Croix

Easter is a special time on St Croix.  For over 60 years, the locals have been heading to the beaches all over the island to camp for the Easter Spring Break.  Colorful tents abound, as does food, loud music, dancing and of course playing in the surf.  

What a great time for families and friends to gather together and spend a day, weekend, week, or two weeks enjoying this beautiful island.  We talked with one family on the beach who had been camping there for two weeks, and had been doing that for over 30 years in the same spot!!  Ah - what a wonderful tradition.

For me, Easter included a lot of floating, listening to great music (Hudson and the Hoo Doo Cats from Chicago were here...), dancing, hanging out on the beach and watching the sun drop into the sky.  I LOVE this island!  Watch the short slide show below to see what you are missing...
