| How do you like to go up in a swing, Up in the air so blue? Oh, I do think it the pleasantest thing Ever a child can do! Up in the air and over the wall, Till I can see so wide, River and trees and cattle and all Over the countryside-- Till I look down on the garden green, Down on the roof so brown-- Up in the air I go flying again, Up in the air and down! |
I am sharing with you one of my favorite poems. Although Sarah may not be swinging she is flying. She is free of the worries of yesterday and tomorrow. She is in her own moment alone with the sea and the sky and her smile.
I love Sarah.-Mom

Dinah, The poem is lovely but that picture is a gem...it speaks volumes. I absolutely love it!
Dinah,
That photo is childhood itself . . . . "I'm alive!"
What a great shot!!!
Sarah looks so very happy just spinning there by herself at the water's edge. Perfect picture of childhood itself!
With that kind of wind I thought it must be the NC Outer Banks. Consistent breezes there are why the Wright Bros did their flights in Kitty Hawk.
Dinah - I really like your poems and I use to write poems and words for music when I was younger. When I come across yours it really makes me want to start writing again.
Watch out I may just post a blog with a poem and say you were the person that influenced me! And I love the photograph, is that you?

Great picture Dinah, it really captures the motion of her and subsequently emotion. I actually spent more time looking at the image than on the words themselves.
Dinah, It looks as though Sarah has found her quiet spot and enjoying the moment. Nice poem ma'am.
Dinah,
Thank You for the reminder! We all need to spend more time in the moments of every day!
Wishing you the Best!
Judy
Dinah, What an absolute beautiful photo:)) The freedom of a child.........awesome:)))
Love your pic Dinah I am on the right coast,....
Dinah Lee: Reading your poem and seeing Sarah "flying" brings both a smile and a tear or two to my face. It sounds like Sarah is/can be a very free spirit. Let us only hope that somehow she is able to stay that way.
How I miss the times I felt free to fly. I fear, oh how I fear, that those times may be gone forever. Sarah... one of my favorite names. Goddess and princess. Give her many hugs... and perhaps one for me. Thanks so much for sharing.
What a great poem with an even better picture. Made my day. Thanks.
