Samish Nation Purchases Hwy 20 Land

The Samish Nation purchased approx. 14 acres on Hwy 20 in Anacortes, WA for $8.6 million.

The land was purchased by Bill Wooding. Mr. Wooding had tried for years to ge the city to change the zone so a large super store could be built on the property.

The land will be placed in a federal trust by the Samish nation, which will allow the land to be developed in a multitude of ways. The process of removing from the city tax rolls and placing the land into a trust is a process that might take years.
