Harrison Hospital in Silverdale and Bremerton is working towards 1000 Cranes for Peace. Studies show the therapeutic benefits Origami offers to everyone. The sense of mastering a skill produces brain stimulation, lowers blood pressure and a host of other positive benefits! Since April, twice monthly, a group of volunteers meet in the waiting room for a few hours to make origami cranes. We invite those waiting to fold along with us. We have taught many people the art of paper folding. It's been a great opportunity to help those waiting in the hospital to be distracted for a few minutes and relax a bit and learn a new skill.
So far we've made about 200 so we have a ways to go! We would love to have your help, so please join us Thursday, July 16 from 11 to 3 at the Bremerton campus. To learn how to fold the peace crane, visit http://origami.org.uk/origamicrane
