Do you volunteer?
My wife and I volunteer with many worthwhile causes and clubs. We call it giving back for how fortunate we have been and continue to be.
One of the downfalls with many of volunteer concepts is that it requires bodies. We find the same people year after year giving their time and energy to make things happen. Volunteers eventually get burned out and not only leave the committee but the club or the organization they have put so many hours into.
We all need new blood, so do our clubs, communities, and causes.
Volunteering is a worthwhile endeavor that all of us should experience. This is not only good for your business and community; it's good for your heart...

I love to give back to the community whenever I can. I volunteer on my neighborhood association, in the German Club, for the American Cancer Society and wherever someone needs a hand. It feels great to give.
I belong to Kiwanis. I have since the 1980's. Keeping up membership is now almost an impossible task.
I love to help around in the community. In fact last night I saw a tarp covering one of our Churches roofs. I thought it might be a good candidate. People often go to churches for help and in this economy they too could use some-Dinah Lee
Yes I do. I volunteer with a number of organizations in our area.
Paul,
Thank you for highlighting the importance of volunteering. I am a firm believer in the importance of giving back to the community. It sure is good for the heart.
I firmly believe that we need to give back to our community. Not only is it great to meet new people but a great feeling helping with community projects. I have been in Rotary since 1986 and we have two funds raisers a year where we cook at a fish fry at downtown fextival and sell Fettachini chicken dinners at the high school. What a great time seeing people in the community you havent seen for awhile, and the funds go to scholarships.

My wife, 3 year old son and I serve meals at a rescue mission a few times a month. We also fill in when the coordinator can not find any volunteers on any given night.
GOOD MORNING PAUL! My family and I volunteer all year round for so many things -- we are blessed and it's important to always give a little -- even if it is simply just your time! Nice post! --Gabrielle
