If you've never been able to attend the Deschutes Duck Dash and want to know what exactly goes on there, take a look at these pictures and you'll get the general idea.

As you can gather from the name of the event and from these pictures, it's all about ducks...

...ducks, which will be dropped from this bridge and which will have to maneuver over this waterfall. The first bunch of ducks to arrive at the lake below will win the race and the lucky sponsors of these ducks will win one of many fantastic prizes, from cars to cash, and everything in between.

Duck Dash visitors are entertained with music performances, food, and a carnival atmosphere with fun for young and old, starting at 11:00 a.m.

At 4:00 p.m., to the loud sounding of an air horn, and jeers from the spectators, hundreds of ducks are dropped from the bridge and make their journey down the river.
At the finish line, event volunteers fish out the winning ducks. The ducks are marked with serial numbers and the lucky winners with the corresponding ticket numbers will be announced shortly thereafter. Winner not present will receive a phone call. The duck Dash is put on by the Lacey Rotary Club and proceeds go to local community organizations.
Maybe next year, if you attend and buy a ticket, you'll be one of the winners.
