Our Town...

Our local business journal hosted its Sixth Annual Business Growth Awards reception this evening (4/29). It's a marvelous event for networking with many key personalities from our business and non-profit communities. The event itself is to recognize the success of various categories of business success: greatest 1st year, most innovative, fastest growth for 1 - 5, 5 - 10, and over 10 years of business, as well as fastest or strongest growing non-profit for last year. All of the nominated organizations are reviewed by SCORE here in Vancouver, USA who also decide the finalists and winners of each category.

I love the whole community involvement and the mutual benefit these myriad efforts produce. The interdependence of private business and non-governmental non-profits are one of the attributes of Vancouver that I enjoy most.
