According to their website, Stevens Pass Ski Resort on U.S. Highway 2 is scheduled to open on Wednesday December 1, 2010. With pre-Thanksgiving snow in Seattle, local skiers had hoped for an earlier start, but Mother Nature couldn't quite deliver the needed snow accumulation. This year's weather has been much colder than normal which has lead to very dry snow here in the Leavenworth area. Most of the time this powder makes for great skiing, but wetter snow is needed for a good base.
Anyhow, the local ski season starts Wednesday, Hope to see you out and about on the slopes.
