December's Season of Celebrations and Sharing - The KGW Great Toy Drive - 2011

The KGW Great Toy Drive provides an opportunity for many kids to have a little hope and merriment during the holidays. You can drop off toys at the KGW studios on Jefferson, any Wells Fargo bank, any Les Schwab Tire Center and at the Portland Regence location.

However, you'd better hurry, as it's nearly a wrap for this year's efforts. The last day for donations is Wednesday, December 21st. Approximately 100 local nonprofit groups distribute the toys to needy families. Please make sure the toys are new and unwrapped.

When I worked at 620 KGW, the lobby of our building would be filled with shiny new toys. As I walked through each day, I'd imagine the faces and smiles of all the children who would be receiving an unexpected surprise. This year, the need is greater than ever.

If you're rushing about today and tomorrow to finish your shopping, don't forget to add a toy to your list. It's easy to donate and makes a world of difference to a needy child. Let's all remember to contribute at least one toy to the KGW Great Toy Drive and bring hope and merriment to needy children.
