I can still remember the first time that I saw Spokane. My kids, wife and I were coming to Spokane to visit freinds who had recently moved back to Spokane. Neither my wife or I had ever been to Spokane so we did not know what to expect as we crested the hill coming into Spokane on I-90. We were amazed. My first thought was "Spokane is Big."
My wife and I lived in Hockinson, WA. when we decided to make the trip out. I had just accepted a new job in Portland, with substantial pay increase, prior to coming to Spokane. So this was just a trip to enjoy a long Labor day weekend.
After spending time floating the Spokane river, golfing and enjoying some of the Spokane night life we were hooked. I went back home and quit my job before I started it, uprooted the family, and moved to Spokane.
There were several reasons that we came to such a quick decision.
1. The cost of real estate was substantially lower in Spokane. We had had a desire to own a home but had not been able to make that dream come true where we were living. Once in Spokane we were home owners with in 18 months. Spokane still has some of the best affordable housing opportunities in the country.
2. The lifestyle that Spokane had to offer. I really clicked with my wife and I that this was the kind of place that we wanted to raise our kids. We have not regretted that decisions on bit. Spokane has some of the best schools in the entire nation.
3. We loved the recreational opportunities that are available in Spokane. Water Sports, Winter Sports, Golfing, Sport Events.
As a Spokane Real Estate Agent I can honestly say that Spokane is a great place to live. If you are contemplating a move - look at Spokane
