RedRock Resurfacing is interested to find out what realtors do when confronted with an extremely outdated kitchen or bathroom. HGTV states that:
"A minor kitchen facelift is one of the best improvements homeowners can buy. Other real estate professionals concur. They say minor kitchen remodels return more value than any other project on the list--about 81 percent, nationally."
"Real estate pros rank the bathroom remodel the third-most valuable home improvement (tied with adding a family room). From the standpoint of return on investment, it's one of the smartest remodels a homeowner can undertake because, on average, 71 percent of cost will be recouped at resale. In the Eastern states that return can go to 84 percent."
Do you:
a) Leave the countertop how it is? Other aspects of the home will make the potential buyer forget about it.
b) Stage the countertop? If I use a bowl of fruit and some fancy containers the potential buyer will not even notice it!
c) Explain to the homeowner that the bright orange countertop is not going to help sell the home and something needs to be done if they can find it in their budget?
