Karen O'Connor, Public Relations Speclialist with Seattle Parks and Recreation, sent me an email to help get the word out. The old Park & Ride behind Target is finally about to be torn down to make way for a 3.74 acre park! I'll update you with some more news about the groundbreaking party in a separate post soon.
Here's what Karen had to say,
"The King County Northgate Park & Ride located at 5th Avenue NE and NE 112th Street closes permanently on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 5 p.m. Seattle Parks and Recreation is starting construction of the new Hubbard Homestead Park. The groundbreaking will be on Sat. September 26 from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Please watch for the groundbreaking celebration notification."
