Northgate Park & Ride located at NE 112th and 5 Ave NE Closes

New Park by northgate hubbard park

Karen O'Connor, Public Relations Speclialist with Seattle Parks and Recreation, sent me an email to help get the word out. The old Park & Ride behind Target is finally about to be torn down to make way for a 3.74 acre park! I'll update you with some more news about the groundbreaking party in a separate post soon.

Here's what Karen had to say,

"The King County Northgate Park & Ride located at 5th Avenue NE and NE 112th Street closes permanently on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 5 p.m. Seattle Parks and Recreation is starting construction of the new Hubbard Homestead Park. The groundbreaking will be on Sat. September 26 from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Please watch for the groundbreaking celebration notification."

You can get more info on the project by going to the project page on the Seattle Parks and Recreation site here.
