The Sun Does Come Out in Seattle

View from my home office window.

Even on very thick cloudy days, like today, the sun does say hello and/or goodbye most days.

There is a bright line underneath the clouds. This shot is facing west from my home in Kirkland looking over Downtown Seattle. It's been gray most of the day, and I haven't been feeling well today.

All of a sudden my office turned bright orange and I turned to the the sun peeking at me through the tree...just before it set.

Seattle may not have sunshine all day long...but that doesn't mean we don't get to see it.

...and when that golden sphere appears, we here in the Great Pacific Northwest pay homage with emblazoned expressions that only those from this wonderful part of the world could understand.

Terry,

I feel like a Native American in the Pacific Northwest more than anyplace else I've ever lived.  You can imagine the simple lifestyle...and envy it at times.  To have been here before all the hustle and bustle set in was likely amazing.

Ardell - THat's a beautiful picture. I've never been to Washington, but I've been told that you get a few cloudy days.

Elizabeth,

We certainly do.  But isn't that a gorgeous cloudy day?  There is only a small opening under the clouds where the sun peeked through.

When it's cloudy, and the sun comes out, even briefly, it is all the more special.  I appreciate the sun and a sunny moments so much more than I did when I lived in Southern California, I called it relentless sunshine there.  I hope you are feeling better tomorrow....

That was a pretty cool sunset - whole house went orange.

Sorry Ardell but I have virtually every day with sunshine in my eyes!

Sadly today it's thunder and raining bad!

Ardell, what a fantastic view you have, thank you for sharing (maybe an add to your computer wallpaper).

Ardell,

This picture should have symphonic music behind it. It is a great shot!

Ben!

I love the way even the sidewalks went orange in your photo.  It just kind of happened all at once.  From gray to orange to black.  I love Kirkland.  I am selling the house though.  Kim's a bit apprehensive about where we'll go, since I have no idea at the moment.  Just think it's a good time to sell.

and when it does you sure need Sunglasses!

My second floor has an awesome view of Mt. Rainier and Lake Washington, Seattle skyline, space needle, etc...

Planning to put it up for sale shortly.

Ardell, that is a gorgeous picture.  I have always wanted to visit the pacific northwest.  We have made it to Canada and Whistler but still have yet to make it to Seattle.  It is on our someday list.

Great shot.  Bet it brightened your day.

Sunrises and Sunsets are, to me the most beautiful views in the world.  For some reason, they make me feel spiritual.  Thanks for sharing your sunset with us, Ardell.

Ardell, Wow, what an amazing shot!  I'd have it blown up and framed, it's just beautiful!
