Sequim, Washington - Carrie Blake Park

Every town in the US has a city park of some sort. A place for all their citizens to gather together, celebrate, relax, or play. Carrie Blake Park serves that purpose for Sequim.

 This wonderful city park sits on approximately 35 acres on the east side of town along Blake Ave.

It is a wonderful park that has may activities for the young, old, wildlife, and pets. Carrie Blake Park has been and continues to be a favorite gathering spot for Sequim residents and visitors for years.

Carrie Blake Park is home to Sequim's convention center, The Guy Cole Convention Center. Outside the center are picnic areas and a gazebo. This is a popular place for wedding receptions in the summer.

There are swings and jungle gyms for the little tikes and a skate park for the older and more adventures kids.

The Olympic Discovery Trail travels through the park and makes for a great walking or biking trail.

On the Water Reuse Park side, enthusiasts sail their RC sailboats each weekend at the small pond there. In the summertime, you can go to the outdoor theater for music and a movie. The music is provided by the Sequim City Band. The movies are family friendly and enjoyable for all.

Enter the Dog Park

Bring your four-legged friends to the off leash park to romp and play with his friends.

As you enter Carrie Blake Park you are greeted by the beautiful Friendship Garden that was dedicated to Sequim's sister city, Shiso City, Japan. It is a beautiful garden and well taken care of by Master Gardeners.

Other events held at Carrie Blake Park is the annual Hurricane Ridge Kennel Club Dog Show as well as Senior Softball at the two ball diamonds.

Matt Dryke

Sequim is proud of her Gold Medalist, Matt Dryke. In 1984, Matt won gold in the Skeet Shooting competition. He also holds the world record for the 200x200 shoot. A plaque and bust of Matt is proudly displayed at Carrie Blake Park.
