With Kodak and ActiveRain's Contest, I can save $220 in Savings and put it towards Henry's College Fund

ActiveRain Contests are fun and rewarding and sometime challenging. For some reason this one had not captured my imagination for some reason. I really do hate the fact that ink is so expensive for all the printing I do in my business. It is a natural connection for Kodak and ActiveRain to pair up in this way. But for vague reasons, I did not even thoroughly check it out. Then two events changed my mind:

1) Upon reading Karen Kruschka's post, I learned that time is running out for AR's latest contest and that we should to check it out. She went on to say that she was warmed by the fact that so many of the contestants were going to donate the $220 Kodak was offering as the prize money, to charitable causes.

2) I received this email shown below from a yahoo group to which I belong. It was created for support of Leo and Christy and little Henry. There are a young family going through an excruciatingly difficult time Christy has been spending quality time and providing loving care to her wonderful husband, Leo, and trying keep up with Henry and his activities and her photography business, eat healthy meals and way too much else.

In mid-October, she wrote that Leo has refused further medical treatment and this week came the announcement that Leo has been checked into hospice but "intending to get back home at least for a short time. He has become easily fatigued. " I am not going to write more detail here, except that Leo has a supportive network of family and friends. They are a loving, warm, intelligent creative family. Here is the email sent to the Yahoo group this week:

Many of you have asked if there's anything you can do to help Leo, Christy and Henry in this difficult situation.

After much deliberation, we've decided something important people could do to ease Leo and Christy's minds is to consider making a (small) donation to a tax-sheltered college savings account Leo's brothers have created to ensure Henry will be able to afford to go to college.

Please don't feel pressure to donate...we understand most people's current financial situations are stressed in this economic recession. That said, with over thirteen years to accrue interest, every donation, however small, will help tremendously.
