Waukesha Womens Center..Pay it Forward...Lots of Opportunities !

We have chosen to adopt the Waukesha Women's Center as our primary "Pay it Forward" choice. We cannot imagine many times in a person't life when they need a hand up as they do when they find themselves in need of the shelter and services that the Women's Center provides.

This organization has been a community pillar of "paying it forward"since it was founded in 1977. Its mission is to provide safety, shelter, and support to women and their families and to facilitate their development. The Women's Center provides free and comprehensive services designed to address the issues of domestic violence, sexual assault and abuse. This worthy organization receives some of its funding thru the United Way and with higher demand in these times, there are many ways that they can be helped directly as well.

The community outreach services include help in the areas of Domestic Violence, Sexual abuse and assault, the development of Parenting Skills and employment services.

The needs of the Womens' Shelter are many and varied...money is always appreciated of course and tax deductible. Beyond that...if you can find it in your heart and wallet to do a little shopping you may choose everythng from non-perishable food items to gift cards, pajamas, tolietries...bedding for single beds...click here for their list.

We vary the things we give,...some necessary food, dress some beds...but also provide games for the children...some of the Candy Land and Cootie Variety for those who can't yet read....some books for those who can...some nail polish, makeup and hair products for a little lift at a time when it is need the most.

The Shelter makes it easy....to give back and for them to receive without spending money...how cool is that..

Shelter Alliance -- Donating Cell Phones
When you donate your old cell phones to The Women's Center, they keep some for clients to use for emergencies, and the rest is sent to Shelter Alliance. Shelter Alliance pays us $10-$30 for every phone they send in.

Find it in your heart....to give a hand up....whether it's the case of soup... the box of macaroni, a warm blanket, a board game, the search engine you use daily....it's easy to PAY IT FORWARD....and help with a hand up to those who are at a time in life when they need it most.
