Should I conduct open houses? How about an ad in the paper to sell my home?Great questions.
And in this time when selling a home is not as easy as it was, home sellers are looking for answers.
National Realtors Association (NAR) regularly carries out research on home buyer behavior. One question they ask is where did you first start the home buying process. (I should draw a distinction from the question as to which source of homes did you look at, the answer to which was 95% used online online)
Not surprisingly, the answer was not so clear cut when it came to figure exactly how the buyer started research on the home buying process. (see the chart, courtesy of NAR and the KCMBlog.)
The point is that if buyers do not start the process at open house 4%, they will not be looking for homes at open house either. (4%), Buyers do not use the newspaper these days either. (2%). 69% of the time (the first 3 lines) Buyers start online or by contacting an agent.
