It may be the best time ever to buy in the Cape Cod of the Midwest--Door County! We are a two hour drive from the Fox Valley, three hours from Milwaukee suburbs and Madison, and if you leave work in Chicago you can be here in time for a nine p.m. dinner.

We are a secondary market with one primary city, a small MLS Board, and we have seen some drastic highs and lows over the past three years. People certainly aren't giving away homes in this area, but over the past week I saw a hotel condominium (1 bedroom/1 bath) listed for $8,000.00. That's....a steal. In a resort that may generate income, has indoor and outdoor amenities. I had two associates put in immediate bids. Happy holidays to whomever gets that fantastic deal!

However, there are so many more opportunities here, in Fish Creek, Ephraim, Sister Bay, Ellison Bay and throughout the Door. Thanksgiving saw me discussing homeownership with two friends and some family. All had refinanced in the past six months.
